Mapping Oneself

In an empty flat of the historical Blue Building in Exarchia, Venia Dimitrakopoulou moves from the stone and the extrovert gestures of free sculpting of her previous exhibition to the introvert and subtle gestures that the fragile and sensitive handmade paper requires. Obsession and repetition are the prevalent themes, through which the artistic act can culminate in redemption. In this part of the exhibition the works have taken their place freely and occupy the apartment in a way that the apartment itself becomes a single work. The artist herself writes: “An apartment I occupied in the way in which one occupies one’s dreams…”. The exhibition is completed with the video installation “Life-giving Spring”.
